As part of the Kowloon City Hong Kong food tour, we stopped by Chiu Chow Hop Shing Dessert （合成糖水） after finishing an incredible lunch of halal food at Islam Food. Another local classic, Chiu Chow Hop Shing is a traditional dessert shop that still sits in its original location opened in 1955. Featuring Teochew cuisine from Guangdong Province, the shop features 90 Chinese dessert soups.
Living up to its hype, Islam Food 清真牛肉馆 is a family-style Halal restaurant in the Kowloon City neighborhood of Hong Kong and my favorite place to get Pan Fried Beef Buns! The Halal restaurant can be considered as a local Hong Kong institution, especially due to its location in the historically infamous Kowloon Walled City, which was a walled-up slum that was demolished in 1994.
Causeway Bay Restaurants are dime and dozen - pretty much every corner you turn. BUT discovering the BEST restaurant in this bustling neighborhood may be challenging, especially if it's one that specializes in panfried buns. But no fear! I am here to tell you where you can find the best panfried buns and in general, the best Chinese food in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong!
While it is a bit out of the way from Central, the Mills in Tsuen Wan District is definitely one of my favorite spots to spend an afternoon in Hong Kong. Nina Hotel Island South in Aberdeen offers great value for the amount you pay because the rooms are generally larger than others and the meals are decent! Tsing Yi Nature Trails provide amazing views of the famous Tsing Ma Bridge in Hong Kong. Reminds me so much of the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco! Cape Collinson, located between Siu Sai Wan and Big Wave beach on the eastern side of Hong Kong Island is a great area to explore. The Cape Collinson Battery Hike will lead you to the crumbling ruins of the old battery and breathtaking views of the cape as well as the skyline of Tseung Kwan O.

Taipo Hong Kong is a beautiful neighborhood in the New Territories. In addition to the taipo waterfront park hong kong, the area offers so much more. We started out this particular day with a lovely hike at Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve, an amazing lunch at Billow Seafood Bar & Bistro, and capped the day with a lovely walk around Tai Po Town Center with Grandma's Tofu Pudding.
How to get to Tai Long Wan: from Sai Kung, there are numerous ways to get to Tai Long Wan. Once at Sai Kung, you can take a bus or taxi to Sai Wan Pavilion. From there, you can hike 2.5km which takes around 30 minutes to tai long wan. There are also a few vendors offering boat rides to Tai Long Wan at Sai Kung Public Pier. Beach umbrella rentals available at the restaurant.
Lei Yue Mun Hong Kong Guide. Stumbled upon this amazing place, Lei Yue Mun Village, at the end of our hike at Devil’s Peak in Yau Tong neighborhood on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. In addition to the locally well known lei yue mun seafood restaurant Hong Kong, the Village is filled with beautiful scenery, local snacks, and an old Lei Yue Mun Quarry.

I was extremely surprised at how wonderfully kept and diverse offerings it had. Often remembered as a local park, oceanpark hong kong is both an amusement park and a zoo.
This was one of the longer hikes we did in Hong Kong. It’s not very difficult if you pace yourself but it does take up about 3 to 3-and-half hours. The best part about this hike is you get to see so many different scenery and terrain ranging from the Hong Kong Island skyline, a culturally significant rock (the Lover’s Rock), and the yellow dunes along with the manmade lakes from the reservoir. If you are lucky, you may even get to see wild boars along the way like we did!
