All centrally located in the prime historical center of Toulouse, these three restaurants range from traditional Toulouse steakhouse, to brasserie, to French Asia fusion. The largest concentration of flea markets in the world, The Puces de Saint Ouen in Paris receives more than 5 million visitors each year! It’s only open on Saturday, Sunday, and Mondays and the fifth most visited tourist destination in France! Some markets focus on vintage paintings, some on French vintage furniture, and others on clothes and collectibles.
As part of the Kowloon City Hong Kong food tour, we stopped by Chiu Chow Hop Shing Dessert （合成糖水） after finishing an incredible lunch of halal food at Islam Food. Another local classic, Chiu Chow Hop Shing is a traditional dessert shop that still sits in its original location opened in 1955. Featuring Teochew cuisine from Guangdong Province, the shop features 90 Chinese dessert soups.
Living up to its hype, Islam Food 清真牛肉馆 is a family-style Halal restaurant in the Kowloon City neighborhood of Hong Kong and my favorite place to get Pan Fried Beef Buns! The Halal restaurant can be considered as a local Hong Kong institution, especially due to its location in the historically infamous Kowloon Walled City, which was a walled-up slum that was demolished in 1994.
Causeway Bay Restaurants are dime and dozen - pretty much every corner you turn. BUT discovering the BEST restaurant in this bustling neighborhood may be challenging, especially if it's one that specializes in panfried buns. But no fear! I am here to tell you where you can find the best panfried buns and in general, the best Chinese food in Causeway Bay, Hong Kong!
While staying in the UNESCO town of Le Puy en Velay, I had the liberty to take a few day trips within a 40-minute drive of this beautiful destination located in the Auvergne Region of France. Taipo Hong Kong is a beautiful neighborhood in the New Territories. In addition to the taipo waterfront park hong kong, the area offers so much more. We started out this particular day with a lovely hike at Tai Po Kau Nature Reserve, an amazing lunch at Billow Seafood Bar & Bistro, and capped the day with a lovely walk around Tai Po Town Center with Grandma's Tofu Pudding.
Lei Yue Mun Hong Kong Guide. Stumbled upon this amazing place, Lei Yue Mun Village, at the end of our hike at Devil’s Peak in Yau Tong neighborhood on the Kowloon side of Hong Kong. In addition to the locally well known lei yue mun seafood restaurant Hong Kong, the Village is filled with beautiful scenery, local snacks, and an old Lei Yue Mun Quarry.
Yuen Long to Butterfly Beach, Tuen Mun Bike Ride. Why I don't recommend. I figured this would be just as lovely and relaxing as the bike ride we took a from Shatin to Taipo to Tai Mei Tuk (highly recommend!). I do have to note though, Happy Bicycle, the bike rental shop where we rented from, was great!
Relaxing vibes at pui o beach in the little town of pui o is what you will get from doing the mui wo to pui o hike! A neighborhood in Lantau Island, Mui O and Pui O offers multiple hiking options. To get from mui wo to pui o, being the mui wo hiking at the mui wo ferry pier.
A must visit in Hong Kong is the tai o fishing village and big buddha on lantau island. Also known as the tian tan buddha or big buddha in hong kong its grandiose and serene surroundings of po lin monastery with majestic views are unbeatable. tai o village, sometimes dubbed as the venice of hong kong where the houses are constructed on wooden stilts are uniquely to the landscape of lantau island.
Xiamen, a beautiful coastal town on China's southern coast was one of the first major cities I visited as a little girl. Unfortunately, the beginning of our trip to Xiamen was also the beginning stages of the global pandemic...usually vibrant, the city was a ghost town and there was no xiamen nightlife during our stay. COVID-19 China. Covid-19 Quarantine. Covid China.
Roosevelt Island in New York is a beautiful location to relax and walk around. Since Cornell University Roosevelt Island has been established, a lesser known fact is that Cornell Dairy products, including its deliciously rich ice cream is being sold at the cafe on cornell roosevelt island campus!
